
Gord was born in Slave Lake, Alberta and grew up in nearby Kinuso, AB. He moved to Edmonton in 1985 and attended high school at St. Francis Xavier. After high school, Gord attended the University of Alberta and completed a Bachelor of Physical Education degree.
Gord was lucky to meet some fantastic mentors as he worked as a Rehabilitation Assistant with the Occupational Performance Analysis Unit – University of Alberta when his BPE was completed. After this experience, he decided to pursue physiotherapy as a career. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2003 and then a Masters in Clinical Science from Western Ontario University in 2010.
Completing this Masters degree has allowed Gord to be designated as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. This is a designation for physiotherapists who have completed post-graduate education and attained internationally–recognized qualifications in hands-on therapy.

Gord moved to Camrose in 2013 with his wife Heather, daughter Ashley and son Sam. He has been an active member in the community and has enjoyed coaching and assisting with various hockey and baseball groups throughout the years.
